not a desired xmas

December 28th, 2006 by freparthard

xmas this year wasnt a pleasant one when we recieved bad news that our aunt passed away on xmas eve. especially sorry for my uncle who lives by his own now that my aunt has gone. and also my relatives in kuching that were going to celebrate xmas…but it didnt happen.our family are mourning over our aunt’s death and giving full support to our uncle who is definitely deeply saddened by this.i wish i could be there to help with the funeral and lend a hand on whatever i can.it’s even more sad that it happened on xmas eve, a time of celebration.i bet it’s gonna be hard to celebrate xmas for awhile for my uncle.she’s been battling breast cancer for few years and eventually the disease triumphed- another sad thing that happens to us human being, living in this beautiful but yet merciless world.although i didnt know her much during her lifetime-because my uncle didnt live in malaysia until last year, and i left- but she was a really nice person, very opened minded and intelligent, her opinions always made me think and useful………….sad.so my xmas was real mellow..keeping the family in prayers and so that funeral went well and everyone’s fine.

looking around, there’s a couple other deaths that happened here on xmas. james brown-the rnb/soul godfather- died, and the former president of US too. i dont know what’s the deal….it’s just not a good xmas this year. well…hopefully the new year will bring more cheers to us all…2006 will end in few days and comes another year.i think time really plays a vital role in our live.realizing the time, we become aware of what we’r doing.we plan stuffs,we make promises,we think ahead(and flash back memories),we have ambitions and we get old.otherwise, we wont even care what we’r doing, and dont even bother about anything….so i think it’s very true that the saying ‘time is precious’…..i just thought about it and put it down.

happy new year 2007!!

what’s up since the last blog

November 17th, 2006 by freparthard

the last time i wrote was bout my car, i was excited bout it. now 3 months later, the excitement turns despair…or erm burden is a more appropriate term to describe it. but somehow, i have to keep it working..that’s what i bought it for. after reviewing friends’ blogs, i thought i havent been posting for a while and i decided to write some to share.been very busy with college and work lately, final is up in 3 weeks, projects and tests are due and really not much going on except for working on school works. last month, we premiered our debut skatevideo for Revival skate shop.that was the most recent event that ive participated in. in was a big event, especially for the skate and snow scene here.started in the morning with a skate comp at Lancaster County park, kids of all ages…i remember registering contestant- age 7-56. it’s amazing to see how young them lil kids started to skate, and how old they skated till…and still skating.it’s obviously the deep passion.by the side of the contest was a snowboarding demo, i wasnt really involved with that cos i was busy managing the skatecomp.the snowboarding demo was a sick one too,red bull set up a huge tent as a lounge area with plasma tv and right in front of it was the snowboarding demo.i thought i was a real cool set up.then later that nite, we headed to the Chameleon club, where our video is premiered.the crowd was pretty big.it was like a huge skateboarding party ive ever been to.3 bands, 1 hip hop group performed.they are all friends of us.after the premeir we headed to an irish bar for an after party, where i got to meet with some of the sponsors reps from bacardi, red bull,tech9,endeavor,forum….it was a fun and also a tiring day.i havent been executing an event like that for a while since my last job, so it really kicked in.for now, everything’s kinda going mellow…..just been enjoying the weather.i love the fall season, better than spring.i love the color of the trees, the weather is just right…real cool, and fun to stay outside. now that all the trees are bald( just like the entertainer’s head) weather’s getting colder too and winter is around the corner..which means, back to the snowboarding season!!i wish the fall weather would last longer, without the trees getting bald(they are ugly) but still snow sometimes so we can both snow and skate board.

owh yeah!!! now i have my own car, registered under my name, responsibility, finance everything’s on me. niceee!!!i got this car yesterday from my co-worker who wanna get rid of it cos she already has a new one.so i bought it from her.time kecik-kecik dolok(tadika-darjah 3) cikgu slalu suruh polah karangan ’saya sebuah kereta’, ‘kereta idaman saya’…benda macam ya lah…aku slalu tulis giney aku mok aku pun kereta, laju lah, dapat terbang lah(ish bulak gilak, aku sik ingat bah..) ok anyway, this car is nothing fancy…just drive-able.but she has a pretty big engine, V6, 200 horse power, 2.3 liter.she’s a Dodge intrepid ‘94.dent everywhere,1 bald tyre, and noisy engine.but she still works tho.i am excited about having this car.just the fact that having a car is a big deal for me,especially the 1st one ever!!although am now so broke after paying for the car, insurance and registeration..but it’s aight cos she’s something i really need.i wont be late for my class because of the bus, i wont be in the cold at the bus stop in the winter.and i dont have to bother anyone to pick me up or drop me off.i love my new old whip!

the whole team got together on labor day monday, after the depressing previous week for rain. we hungout at revival while waiting for our camera from clark. we waited for like 3 hours, and everyone’s so eager to skate. juan n tito were on s.k.a.t.e for the whole entire time we were waiting. then came seth, with his camera ready to film but got hold back for our main camera. the sidewalk was filled with us skating ‘warming up’ and but still aware of the cops that are constantly making rounds around the blocks…assholes.it was labor day, i think there were less cops than regular day. seebs showed up with tom and josh, with their sixpack. but seth couldnt wait any longer and rolled up to the wachovia bank park down the street and trying to get his part film- drop in ollie over the fence from a 8-foot brick wall. i dont think anybody ever tried that before. he was trying for like 5-6 times, with bleeding elbow, he eventually landed it. it was sick, cos if u miss a step, u’ll end up killing urself falling on the fence. well at least break ur ribs, if not dead. but seth’s the man!!!! it was his lucky day i guess, because that spot, we usually skate for like 5 minutes and will get kicked out. then we skated back to the shop just on time when the camera we’ve been waiting for arrived. tony, our cameraman setup the camera and with kerns telling him a lil something to do and we all ready to hit some street spot. the first spot was a ledge acroos the street behind the court house. tito was trying a run there. i landed noseslide, and knowing that we’re gonna get kicked out soon if we dont leave, so we left. then we hit a ledge at a nearby church.the ledge was ‘protected’ by 4 huge flower pots which were light as feather, n tito removed it to skate. it actually looked nicer with the flower pots there, it became a more interesting ledge to skate…a lil bit more challenging. they could’ve save way more money by putting just a metal copping there, and let us skate it. rather than figuring out ‘ways’ to avoid us from skating it. a couple minutes there we moved to a handrail at ymca.seth was the only one trying it. am just not a handrail skater. while the rest of us was ‘motivating’ seth to land his noseslide….he almost landed it perfect when fell of his board and slammed his back to a parked car, yeah the car was shaking. then a lady cop stopped by said someone called complained bout us skating the 1st ledge, she said that ledge just got painted. but she was being nice, and gave us a warning. then we went to a school a few blocks down the street, skating the 2-steps manual pad. tito did kickflip manual, juan was trying switch nosemanual, seth was noseblut-ing it up, and i did just a shifty manual…still cant kickflip with swollen ankle. we stayed there the longest. for probably like half an hour. then seth gave up on his noseblunt, and was ready to go. so we went back to revival and head on to lititz in 2 cars. from revival, wade joined us and was bitching bout missing the street session. and he ripped the lititz session. he had like 4 5 runs. and busted his ankle falling from a bslip ollie over from the kicker. that was the end of his part at lititz.tito took his place and did a couple of runs.fs smith revert on the quarter pipe, fs board shovit out….keir was tearing it up too, bs nosegrind the picnic table ollie over from the kicker- the same setup as wade’s. kickflip indy over the picnic table…sick!!i had a couple footage on the rail, feeble 5-O, crooks to bs lip, halfcab nosemanual 180 out..and 2 runs i guess. then before dark we went to overlook skatepark to film something there. i thought it was over for wade, but he was still holding on to his ankle and skated at overlook. i would never do that…..he did pretty good too with a busted ankle, fs 5-O to tail slide over the quarter pipe..session the mini ramp abit.keir got his fs air over the quarte pipe, that was a huge one too.juan was trying his signature fskickflip over the pyramid but didnt didnt land it. it was a long day for me, i didnt do much but just a feeble grind down the rail on the pyramid.it was half an hour of skating at overlook before we got kicked out again for not wearing gears…..but we were all ready to go and all beat up after a long day of skate and filming. the premier of the shop video will be sometime in october, so keep on track of what’s going on, and come and skate with us….we’ll have some good time!!!!check out the next blog soon!!!

badass meets dumbass

August 14th, 2006 by freparthard

the 1st pro demo ive seen just happen to be Girl n Chocolate team!!!the tour ‘badass meets dumbass’ one of the best pro teams in this era of skateboarding.sunday,8/13 at pitcrew’s Hill st skatepark, frederick, md.the demo scheduled at 5pm,we got there at about 1 or 2 pm.after bout an hour drive from baltimore, where we crush the nite before at jesse’s,nice place too.stopped by at pitcrew, holla at rodney who partly owns the shop.the shop is sick!!high ceilling, lotsa shits.with really good vibe too!hung out there for couple of minutes..n the crew couldnt wait any longer to skate, so we left.i wanted to skate so bad when i see the park, but my ankle just couldnt handle it after i rolled it on friday.so all i did was skated the pool for abit till i hurt my ankle again.then i was done for the day and just wait for Girl n Chocolate to show up.kids were killing it prior to the demo.one kid just rolls down the park n backside lip the waist high handrail 1st try.took him only 5 tries to land frontside flip down that handrail which is bout 7 steps.but the distracting part was too many lil kids.standing all over the park.as the demo almost started, skaters started to fill up all the park, trying to get the best spot to watch the demo.we def got one of the best spots,u know why?because, when the team came, they all gather and sat in front of us.wer all behind them.1st,guy mariano, then, rick mcrank, elridge, jereme rogers, daniel castilo, bryan anderson, eric koston, marc johnson, brandon bieble!!!and the others!!rick killed it all,he rolls down..killed the whole park, big air transfer from one bank to another, tre flips over the pyramid, coming back halfcab crooks the rail…bieble warms up with a kicflip nosemanual the ledge to a 6 ft drop!!koston, switch heel flip manual the same ledge 1st try.then fs flip over the pyramid…a huge one!!!badday for bryan anderson,he knocked down a kid who’s sitting too near to the coping of the quarter pipe, left his eye bleeding and bryan had to assist him out of the park.marc johnson was the man that most of us wanted to watch skating but he wasnt in good shape, something wrong with his legs.so he was just chillin watching the rest skating.daniel castillo did a nollie big heelflip over the hip…n there’s this new kid on the team, hardflip over the pyramid!!!ya’ll see him in the vid soon.bieble fs 360 flip over the hip before he went disappear after trying to land nollie bs bigheel on the bank.mc crank lands every tricks he does..totally enjoying the whole park.elridge was quite mellow and took some time before showing up what he got.him and rogers was most of the time(when we were watching) at the ledge..but jereme did a couple of tricks 1st try down the handrail!…we stayed for like 1 1/2 hr watching the demo and had to take off for we had another 2 hours drive to reach home.the trip was so much fun,got to see the best pros, whom all this while we’ve seen just on videos.kenny anderson whom also i wanted to see skating, didnt make it cos he’s on tour with adio which was 2 days earlier at the same park,we didnt go for that tho.but, hey i met marc johnson, koston, bieble, mcrank yooo!!!!the best skateboarding, tho i couldnt skate at all..but it’s a sick experience!!

it’s official

August 10th, 2006 by freparthard

after 6 years of ups n downs, pain, glory, fun, and all that love skateboarding has got me into..am officially sponsored.i was so stoked with it,never expected that i will ever be sponsored.got my first free board last week.i always wanted to, but it was just like a ‘i wish i could be’ kinda thought.when i first started skating,i was all about getting into competition, representing this n that…which i did and earned something worthy from it.but that changed as i skated for more years.because there was no skateboarding when there’s no competition.n i wanted to skate all the time n not just for the competition.yes, competition is fun…but the fun isnt as natural as when u skate ur regular day with ur crew or new people.n the competitions that ive entered were all organized by people that dont know a thing about skateboarding..i didnt think of that before.then i started to skate and film alot with the LVM crew.we had so much fun, nothing else matters.skate everytime we could, roll to the spot, set up the camera and film.when it rains, find a shaded spot..skate for abit and get kicked out.frustration and pleasure never missed a session with us.all those years ive improved alot, new tricks consistently.from stairs to gaps to manuals to rails and boxes.thanks to my crew that inspired me alot, especially romey, napi, choc, joesibu!!social wise,i got to know so many people and also known by people that ive never known.i wasnt sure how long was i gonna skate,i thought i might quit when i get a lil older like when i go to college or whatever.like some people that i know, they quit when they got a driving license or a car or a girlfriend or when their old enuf to drink and started to go clubbing and stuff.but now because it’s so saturated in me,it’ll go along with me without defecting any aspect of my life.and i actually gain something from it and as long as i go the right way,and taking the oppurtunity it gives me….i can do more out of it.not just for myself but for all the lovers of skateboarding.i understand why for some who used to skate and quit.the influences around them arent encouraging enuf for them to move on.or just for the fact that it’s a ‘thing’ u do when ur at that age.but that doesnt apply to me…no offend to anyone,am just expressing my mind bout it.at the same time trying to change that perspective.it might not be the most important thing to be taken care of,but for me,now it has paid back what ive sacrificed for.i might not be a pro-pro,at least it has given a recognition or sort of like an award for being passionate.this is the same thing as what people always say when u put effort on things that u love to do,and do it the right way..it pays off.regardless the thing u do,sports, music, arts, education, technologies, philosophy…whatever.u dont have to show off to everyone that ur good at it.just be there with them that have the same passion as u do,and u will be noticed and from there,u’ll grow.i never looked for sponsors, but by being around with the right dudes..they’ll hook u up.having this honor,i hope to expand it and get people that i notice have potential and deserve it to be at the same path.it’s not like what u see in the movie ‘grind’ how u wanna get sponsored…that’s just hollywood fantasy, just go out there and skate and have fun with the right people.be nice and it’ll come to u and be official!!!

this is dedicated to the LVM,king center, and RVM crew….thanks for everything!!!!

128mph in 3.5secs

July 14th, 2006 by freparthard

it’s been 10 years since i last rode a coaster, that was at sunway lagoon.back then it was just opened and i rode my first coaster ride there.it wasn’t a thrill at all, i couldnt even feel the G force that much.maybe because i rode the ‘for kids’ ride, but i think that was the only coaster there that time.but i did ride the thing that swings u upside down vertically(i dunno what do u call em) with my sister.i was 11 then when i did that and they had a line like to measure height of a kid, fortunately i wasnt too short to ride em, and it was awesome.but all those are nothing to compare to last week when i went to ’six flags’ in jackson,nj with my buddy and his girl.it’s a huge amusement park.more to a roller coaster park.i think there are 10 different coaster rides.batman and robin, superman, nitro,el toro, medusa, scream, king daka..etc.batman and robin ride brings u around loops and then return to the base backwards.el toro is my favorite!!with the speed at about 80mph,descending the first drop at 75 degree-that’s scary steep!!-i felt like i was gonna fall everytime it went down the drop.i was never excited to go for a roller coaster ride before,i was just not a fan of the game.but seeing something like last week,i think am down to any roller coaster ride.especially after i rode ‘king daka’ in six flags.u can see it from a couple of miles away-that’s how tall the track is-466 ft tall, which they say bout the height of a 45 stories building!!and it shoots u up 128mph in 3.5 secs!!!that’s like more than 220kmh!!!the whole ride from start to end takes only 30secs!!when i first saw it, i was so sure that am not gonna go on it!!it was too high and too fast, plus after all the rides,my fear was being in an upsidedown position while travelling in high speed-which i just discovered that day-.but my buddy persuaded me even tho his girl was like ‘dont force him if he doesnt wanna go..’ and i with all the guts that i have, insisted myself for the ride.we waited in line for like 2 hours, people are just anxious to go on that ride, there was a guy who was trying to break the record of riding that coaster.the record was i think 98 times?and he was on his 81st ride,by his look, his hair was so messy,he couldnt even shut his mout properly, some problem with the jaw or something.that’s when u have to much G force!! :) i wonder how does the person with the record looks like????hehehe and the moment i walk into the waiting gate for the ride, my heart was pounding, rush of blood to the head, nervous, all nasty thoughts started to be in my mind..what if the coaster dysfunction?like it doesnt go up the track due to lack of speed and it’ll come back to the base in reverse at much more higher speed than it goes up..cos it is written there that says the track was built purposely for the coster to roll back in reverse if it doesnt work perfectly!owh my god,it could be during our ride.and then we got into our position,i took the middle sit sitting next to a stranger and my buddy and his girl 2 sits infront of me.then it started roll to it’s position.it stalled there for a couple of minutes, made me even nervous cos it seemed like something was wrong.brrrrgghh…while waiting,my palms started to freakin sweat, and my heart never stopped pounding, and my thought was just nasty.i could hear the water dripping off the track, which they spray it onto the track constantly to keep the track cool and at the right temperature otherwise it’d screw up!!i was like..’c'mon,just go,i dnt wanna wait nomore’ n then some sizzling sound came up without warning it went 128mph in 3.5 sec,it was sooooo fast that i couldnt even see cos of the vibration and the wind and the next few seconds we were up top of the track,it slows down for abit, the view was amazing,i could see the ocean(the park is away from the shore) when i looked down, damn it was so high!!!!but it was just a few seconds of relief, then it rolled down again so fast, twisting, and in 30 secs we’r back to the base.my eyes were watery, lotsa relief, felt like i’ve accomplished something that i got pulled back by my own fear!it was so much fun..and actually the fun part is when i was so scared to go on it and the next thing  i know,i’ve done it!!!that week definitely is one of my best vacations, got to see dolphins for the first time in my life,in the wild(i mean ocean) and trained ones!and there was a sea lion too.swam in the freezin cold atlantic ocean, boogy boarding.camped, stayed in a tent for 9 days, experience 4th of july, bbq almost every evening, beer, skateboarding, lotsa different people…just lotsa fun!!

skateboarding in america issue #2

June 26th, 2006 by freparthard

saturday 6/24/06 was one of the illiest sessions i ever had in my entire skateboarding experience.went to jump start record’s back office mini ramp in philly and session it while the band- ‘giving chase’ and the crowd of punk rockers banging their heads in the mosh pit for the making of their 4th/5th video(am not sure).i am not a very good mini ramp skater but i can skate em.jesse bradly, a local pro from lancaster ripped the session.back to back blunt stall to fakie, regular/switch. nollie fs flip, fs flip tail stall, huge fs air to smith stall. my boy tito ripped too with his signature fs smith revert…nollie rock n roll revert..kept it real consistent.bruce skated with full speed and the constantly flew his board board to the crowd but there were no complains…everybody had fun :) n in the end of his run he’ll be jumping from his board from the mini ramp to the mosh pit..he’s nuts!!!a 5 ft 9 jumping on ur head..u know how it feels.the man that brought us there..kerns,way much better on a snowboard, did skated his ass off too.long 5o grinds, trying on fs flip but didnt see he lands it.i enjoyed the session so much..non stop skating from 4pm-10pm,loud music, burst our ears,2 kegs of beer…tons of fun!!the longest run i did was probably 2 minutes(if u know skateboarding that’s a long run on a mini ramp),bs/fs 5o’s,bluntstall fakie,fs ollie,fs ollie smith stall…nose stall revert..trying on 5o grind revert n landed on my back hip..left me with blue black.by the way, jump start is an underground record label that signs bands like giving chase.they were really friendly and lotsa fun…the video shooting went real well and to be out in 2 months time..and i had one of the best sessions!!..checkout em pictures!

my +10

June 13th, 2006 by freparthard

starting with my goalkeeper, i would want to have Peter Schumacher; he’s always been my favorite goalkeeper since i knew the game of football.the man to beat at any goal! last man, will be Roy Ferdinand; he’s height is an advantage and has been one of the best defender.he could score from corner kick too.not many defender could do so.to the left of him, Roberto Carlos.quick, aggresive and technical in defending…long distance free kick?he’s the answer.to the right back, Roy Keane!!to scare all the strikers, cos he’s gnarly!!nobody messes with Keane or you’re prone to serious injuries.midfielders, middle i would want Zinedine Zidane.the mastermind of the game and the living legend!!to his right gotta be David Beckham, perfect passes, almost definite score from freekicks!to the left, Louis Figo!definitely the one of the best midfielder and i love his style.he’s not as fast but he’s got the way to get a goal!!wingers…left would be Ryan Giggs. my all time favorite winger, super fast, technical and great scoring abilities from long and short distance.he has great passes too…like a left footed Beckham.to the right…the right footed Giggs-Cristiano Ronaldo!!very rare style of playing, he’s pretty aggresive and very technical.a perfect cobination of wingers for me.fast?of course!!he could score goal from a very difficult point in the goal area.my strikers line up…..Tierry Henry and Ronaldo…..am out of words to describe these two ill mad good strikers ever to live. if u know football, u know what am talking about!!!! where do i position myself? i would work with Zidane!!

you notice lots of England and Manchester Utd players in my +10?cos am a true fan of both!!

Glory Glory England!!

this is a blog in celebration of FIFA World Cup 2006, Germany!! for the love of the Game!!!
